“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything”.
The theme for #WorldEnvironmentDay2021 is ‘Ecosystem restoration”. The key to restoring the degraded ecosystems of the planet earth is that we need to be aware of the damage we had done to our natural environment.
How materialistically and unconsciously, the only critical thinking species of the planet earth “human being” is gradually and constantly damaging and exerting unbearable pressure on the natural resources of the sensitive ecosystems of the natural environment.
Anything in excess is a poison, and we the human’s constantly slow poisoning the habitats of all environmental mediums. From the discharge of unmanaged solid, liquid pollutants into our environment from our daily life activities to the seasonal excess illegal hunting of the rare flora and fauna species, we are mass murdering our resources.
Materialism is toxic to the planet earth’s diverse ecosystem, the unplanned built environment is rapidly altering the natural habitats of the earth’s ecosystems. Ecosystem restoration and conservation mean the wise consumption of the earth and its limited natural resources for the lasting good of men.
To restore and protect the natural resources of our environment, we must implement sustainable development goals (SDGs), and being the responsible global inhabitants of different parts of the earth we must act locally and think globally to protect and restore vulnerable ecosystems. By Switching our daily life habits and wisely consuming natural resources we can make this earth an eco-friendly place for ourselves and for our coming generations.
